Disney ‘furious’ over NBC scoop of Jackie Kennedy book before ABC telecast

Washington: Walt Disney Co. executives are said to be “furious” that excerpts from the embargoed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ book and audiotapes were aired by NBC, and not ABC.

According to the New York Post, NBC scooped the news four days before they were to be published by Hyperion Books, a unit of the Disney Co., reports Contactmusic.

NBC thereby scooped ABC, another Disney division, which was scheduled to air a special Wednesday based on the book, ‘Jacqueline Kennedy Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy’ .

According to the Post, NBC nabbed the book when a bookstore owner inadvertently put it on sale early.
