Farida Jalal returns to small screen as `Ammaji`

Get ready for some laughs with new fun loving Ammaji, played by Farida Jalal in the forthcoming comedy show `Ammaji Ki Galli`.`Ammaji Ki Galli` is Farida`s full-fledged role on the small screen after a long time.
The show narrates the story of families residing in the crowded bylanes of Amritsar. There are six different households, but everyone lives like a family and considers Ammaji as their eldest member. The show also marks the comeback of actress Rakshanda Khan, who shot to fame with her roles in `Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi` and `Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin`. She will play Parminder in `Ammaji Ki Galli`, which will go on air June 20. The 62-year-old started her acting career as a child artiste with the 1960-hit `Chaudhvin Ka Chand` and essayed varied roles thereafter. She has played on-screen mother to many stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Akshay Kumar. She was seen on the small screen for the first time in popular comedy show `Dekh Bhai Dekh` and was later seen in `Shararat` as well. In 2009, Farida made a cameo in `Balika Vadhu`.
