Panaji: A Hindu right wing organisation has raised objection to 'MTV Splitsvilla' for its alleged depiction of vulgarity.
The members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) today tried corner TV host Nikhil Chinappa to hand over a memorandum. "I am just a host of the show. I am the presenter. I am not the producer," Chinappa told HJS members who tried to hand him the memorandum, when he was here to participate in a function.
HJS has objected to skimpy dressing and vulgarity allegedly propagated through this show, aired on MTV. When Chinappa walked out of the function, HJS members tried to give him the memorandum, which he refused to accept.
Earlier speaking to mediapersons, Chinappa said he was not aware about the objections raised by HJS. "I am not aware of any allegations. This is a democratic society, each one has a right to view their opinion. We function within the framework of law of the country," he said.
Chinappa said that Information and Broadcasting Ministry's rules make it mandatory that if anything is objectionable, the image has to be blurred and voice needs to be muted.
"You are not even allowed to use beep. Not even lip reading is allowed. These are the rules," he said. This is the seventh season of the show which is hosted by actress Sunny Leone and Chinnapa. The series is being filmed in the Samode Palace in Jaipur.
