"India`s Most Haunted" debuts on Friday the 13th
New Delhi: Talk about "Paranormal Activity" for primetime. Leading Indian broadcaster New Delhi Television will hope to scare audiences with ghost hunters show "India`s Most Haunted" on its lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times. To add to the spook value, the show debuted on Friday the 13th.
Described as a "nationwide trail and journey into the unexplained," "India`s Most Haunted" aims to uncover the "real truth behind the country`s most haunted places."
The show is anchored by anchors Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma who are otherwise famous for their long running on-the-road fun food show "Highway On My Plate" on NDTV Good Times.
Armed with state-of-the-art equipment to investigate local legends, curses and the haunted, Rocky and Mayur will "intentionally put themselves directly in harms way with their bold antics by taunting ghosts, summoning the dead and daring the demonic to attack."
"Everyone loves a good ghost story and everybody has one to tell. When we decided to go ahead with the show, there was a huge response from people wanting Rocky and Mayur to tell their `haunted` story. In fact in places like New Orleans haunted or horror tourism is a huge draw and a viable business model. India has so many fabulous haunted havelis (mansions) and hill stations waiting to be showcased," NDTV Good Times CEO Smeeta Chakrabarti said.
