International gameshow getting Bengali edition

Kolkata: International hit gameshow `Million Dollar Money Drop`, where contestants get the actual feel of mega bucks, will now have a Bengali edition.

Unlike the format of other game shows, every participant here is a millionaire at the outset without any condition. This would be for the first time that an international gameshow has been adapted in Bengali.

Produced by Endemol, `Koti Takar Baji` (The challenge of Rs one crore) will be aired from Saturday on the Star Jalsha television channel with popular Bengali film actor Jeet as its host.

"A never before experience of the show is the physicality of money. The participants are given the touch and feel of handling Rs one crore. The twist is that one does not need to earn maximum money, but has to retain the prize money," a Star Jalsha spokesperson said.

The success of the contestant would depend on the aptitude for analysis, confidence, handling stress and team work under extreme pressure.

The game show would have three basic rounds where participants would play for the big prize money of Rs one crore and face eight questions.

Premiered last year, the game show acquired tremendous popularity in 30 countries like the UK, USA, Russia, Australia and Europe.

The first season of the show, having regular celebrity contestants, would run for 13 weeks every weekend.
