It is not easy playing God on small screen: TV actor Raina

Mohit Raina, who plays Lord Shiva on popular show `Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev`, says it is challenging to play God on-screen.

Mumbai: TV actor Mohit Raina, who plays Lord Shiva on popular show `Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev`, says it is challenging to play God on-screen.
Mohit plays the central role in Nikhil Sinha`s `Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev`, the mythological serial which focuses on the Hindu deity. "It is very challenging as people look up to you when you play God. I am currently going through the most difficult phase of my life. When you are playing God you have to respect people`s emotions and beliefs. So you have to take care of everything," Mohit said. The 30-year-old from Jammu and Kashmir is quite elated with the response to his performance on the show. "Audience connect with me as Lord Shiva. It feels good. People want to touch you, hold your hand and touch your feet. When I started working on this project, I was sure the makers are going to make it extraordinary. It is a lifetime opportunity for me to do this role," he said. Mohit also plays two other characters in the same series -- Jallandhar and Aadi Yogi. While Jallandhar happens to be villain, Aadi Yogi is the calmer counterpart who helped Parvati regain her memory. According to Mohit, the most difficult part was to put on weight for the serial in order to look powerful. "TV being a visual medium I had to put on weight to look like Mahadev. When you achieve the look half the battle is like won. I am happy people liked my look." The mythological drama series is on air since 2011 on Life Ok Channel. PTI
