Washington: Katy Perry, who was offered a whopping 20 million dollars to be a part of the judging panel on ‘American Idol’, has tuned down the lucrative proposal.
According to a source, the show`s producers were so eager to have the pop star that they were ready to pay her more than what they paid Mariah Carey for a yearlong contract, Us Weekly reported. "She was being hotly pursued," the source explained. "They really wanted her,” the source said. However, Perry finally turned them down leaving the bosses to continue their search to replace Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. A number of other names, which have been bandied about as possible additions, include Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Keith Urban and Nick Jonas. In late July, Mariah Carey officially signed on to judge, accepting an 18-million-dollar deal, making her the highest-paid judge on any music competition show. ANI
