New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is back to anchoring the season 6 of India’s first reality game show on small screen ever – ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. And like always, neither the revamped format of the show nor the graceful anchor has failed to deliver as per the expectations.
Amitabh Bachchan exudes his trademark enthusiasm as he hosts the programme effortlessly giving an impression as if the show never went off-air for a break. Although it is a known fact that KBC had earlier tried several gimmicks to refresh itself by changing its anchor etcetera; it had to struggle hard to gain good TRPs. However, there are two main noticeable changes in the new season which we think are different than its other seasons. First, the production team has reached far and wide to trail down ‘real’ people and bring them to sit on the hot seat. These people are a typical ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ sort of strugglers who aspire to make it big in life through KBC’s platform.
The second new feature seems to be inspired by the new wave of patriotism in India brought about by Aamir Khan in ‘Satyamev Jayate’ and Mr. Anna Hazare in his recurring anti-corruption movements. In clear terms, one could not miss noticing the display of patriotism in the show, although a bearable mix of it!
Like always, Amitabh Bachchan is his cool self while interacting with the contestants and even breaks in a short bhangra gig to please the participants. All in all, ‘KBC Season 6’ is watchable but we won’t mind if those long ad breaks get shortened.
