Madhavan returns to TV with `Big Money`
New Delhi: He charmed the big screen audience with `3 Idiots` and now south Indian superstar R Madhavan is set to entertain his fans on TV with a new game show `Big Money`.
Sameer Nair and Siddhartha Basu, the brains behind the successful game show `Kaun Banega Crorepati`, are joining hands again for a similar show on Imagine.
The format of the show is different as a team of four people related to each other will participate and questions will be posed to them based on what they see on television.
A prize money of Rs 1 crore will be given away on the show for which the official announcement is yet to be made.
"Yes... I am hosting a game show on Imagine called Big Money. Really looking forward to it as I have been a great fan of Siddharth Basu. This concept is unique to the Indian viewers and families who watch TV will completely relate to it and enjoy it," Madhavan said.
"In our country where family ties and values are very strong, it would be interesting to see how they react under pressure to win one crore. Such a pleasure to be working with Imagine," he added.
The 40-year-old actor, who celebrated his birthday on June 1, is not new to the small screen as he started his career with serials like `Banegi Apni Baat` and `Sea Hawks`.
After making it big in the South Indian film industry, Madhavan had a stint with TV again in 2005 with game show `Deal Ya No Deal`. The star is back after a gap of four years with `Big Money` which is set to air in July.
