Los Angeles: 'Sherlock' star Martin Freeman has boarded BBC's 'The Eichmann Show', a dramatisation of the global broadcast of the trial of Adolf Eichmann, one of the architects of the Holocaust.
Freeman will play TV producer Milton Fruchtman, with Anthony LaPaglia starring as TV director Leo Hurwitz.
Fruchtman and Hurwitz were responsible for putting together one of the first global television events when Eichmann's trial was televised to 37 countries over four months in 1961, reportedly.
Eichmann was captured by Israeli secret agents in Buenos Aires and transported to Israel in 1960 where he was tried a year later. He was hanged in 1962.
