The 21-year-old singer-songwriter will work with Blake Shelton ahead of the all-important battle rounds, reported E! News.
Trainor is coming off scoring a US and UK number-one single with 'All About That Bass', which has sold more than 6 million copies around the world.
The musician performed her follow-up single 'Lips Are Movin' on the NBC talent competition last season.
'The Voice' mentors for season eight also include Nick Jonas for Team Christina Aguilera, Lionel Richie for Team Pharrell Williams and Ellie Goulding for Team Adam Levine.
