Nancy Dell’Olio’s disappointing opening act on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

London: She was ‘Strictly Come Dancing’s most talked-about contestant even before the competition had begun, but flamboyant Nancy Dell’Olio was shattered when a wardrobe malfunction caused her to finish bottom out of all the 14 contestants and face a grilling from the judges on the first performance of the show.

According to the Daily Express, the 50-year-old Italian property lawyer, who had donned a light green ruffled gown on BBC’s hit talent show, got off to a bad start as she kept tripping over her feather boa that trailed on the floor while doing waltz with her professional partner Anton du Beke.

“Nancy was really upset. A similar thing happened in rehearsals and Anton told her to cut it but she over-ruled him. He was rightly furious when it happened again on the actual dance,” the Sun quoted an insider as saying.

Dell’Olio was awarded only 12 out a total of 40 and was even branded a “man in drug” by the judges due to the disappointing performance.

Grief-stricken Dell’Olio was later spotted hitting the bar and ordering champagne for her fellow competitors following the judges’ damning comments.
