NBC station not to air new ‘Playboy Club’ series

KSL-TV has refused to air the network’s upcoming drama series ‘The Playboy Club,’ set in a 1960s era Playboy Club.

Washington: It has emerged that NBC’s Salt Lake City affiliate KSL-TV has refused to air the network’s upcoming drama series ‘The Playboy Club,’ set in a 1960s era Playboy Club. “The Playboy brand is known internationally. Everyone is clear what it stands for. We want to be sure everyone is clear what the KSL brand stands for, which is completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand,” said KSL-TV’s president and CEO Mark Willes in a statement.
Willes also mentioned in his statement that the Playboy brand was inconsistent with a community anti-pornography campaign, which the network was promoting, reports Fox News. NBC has responded with its own statement saying, “while we are disappointed with KSL’s decision, we are confident that the show will find another home in the Salt Lake City market.” ANI
