Oscar-nominated actor James Franco returns to `General Hospital`

Los Angeles: Oscar-nominated James Franco is returning on small screen to reprise his role as serial killer Robert `Franco` Frank in `General Hospital`.

The `127` star will make his comeback on the show for a lont-term in September, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Though scheduling details are still being worked out, a show representative says the story arc will be "long-term" and last "into the fall."

Franco`s character will unveil his "most twisted plan yet" when he returns to Port Charles just in time for the wedding of his crush Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

The actor first appeared on the daytime drama in 2009, when he shot three days of scenes that unfolded in 23 episodes.

This marks Franco`s fourth appearance on `General Hospital` his most recent stint on the show was in February.

Franco`s next stars in `Rise of the Planet of the Apes` with Freida Pinto, which opens on August 5.
