Priyanka Chopra, the latest victim of IPL controversy
Mumbai: Now here’s sad news for all Priyanka Chopra’s fans. The actresses’ much-awaited TV debut might take longer than anticipated. The stunning diva, who is all set to host the third season of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, has been the latest victim of the ongoing IPL controversy.
And no, Piggy Chops isn’t involved in any direct way. However the current IPL façade has brought about a delay in the shooting of the show as not even a single cricketer has been signed for the show as yet.
According to reports, Priyanka’s show that was to have cricketers as contestants, has come at a standstill after the Lalit Modi scandal and Dhoni’s outburst after T20 World Cup exit. The show is moving at a snail`s pace as till date not even a single cricketer has got onboard.
Talking about the reason for the slow pace, a source told a news daily, “The slow movement is due to the turmoil in the country`s cricket scenario after the Indian Premier League-Lalit Modi episode. Couple this with M S Dhoni`s recent comment that the extensive traveling and partying has taken a toll on the Indian players.”
"Talks have been on with cricketers. Ever since Priyanka was announced as the show`s new host two months ago, negotiations have been on, but no player is on board yet," adds the source.
And even though Piggy Chops is slated to do a start-to-finish shoot in July, the producers are yet to shortlist the contestants.
"Several names were to be picked from the various IPL teams. But the happenings towards the end of the tourney threw everything off-gear," said the source.
