Jaipur: Flute maestro Pandit Ronum Majumdar has expressed concern over the SMS voting system in reality shows as he believes such programmes don`t reflect the true aspirations of youth.
Majumdar said reality shows are governed by SMS business industry and discourage participants who get eliminated through such voting system. "Ninety-nine per cent participants who get eliminated through SMS votes get frustrated and sometimes leave their music and singing hobby," Majumdar told reporters on the sidelines of a music concert. The musician said he was in constant touch with Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Hari Haran to raise the issue of "public voting" through SMS in reality shows. The flutist said he had plans for a modern `Gurukul and Academic Education` in either at Varanasi or Mumbai through government support. Majumdar, who played the flute for `1942: A Love Story`, said he owed his career to music composer RD Burman and Sitar maestro Pandit Ravisankar. PTI Pic Courtesy: www.last.fm
