Los Angeles: Actor Richard Armitage is joining the cast of 'Hannibal'. The 43-year-old 'Hobbit' actor will play Francis Dolarhyde, a serial killer known as The Tooth Fairy because of his razor-sharp teeth, reported Collider.
Armitage is expected to appear in at least six episodes as Dolarhyde, a character who originally appeared in Thomas Harris's novel Red Dragon. NBC recently confirmed a major re-casting for 'Hannibal', as 'The Twilight Saga's Joe Anderson replaces Michael Pitt as Mason Verger.
'The Wolverine' actress Tao Okamoto is boarding Hannibal for season three, while David Tennant has also claimed to have inquired about a role in the series. Series veterans Gillian Anderson and Laurence Fishburne will be returning for the new episodes as well.
