'Richie Rich' TV series coming to Netflix

Netflix has ordered a live-action adaptation of 'Richie Rich'. The new show is a reboot of the classic comic book series dating back to 1953, which also inspired a 1994 movie starring Macaulay Culkin, reported Digital Spy.

London: Netflix has ordered a live-action adaptation of 'Richie Rich'. The new show is a reboot of the classic comic book series dating back to 1953, which also inspired a 1994 movie starring Macaulay Culkin, reported Digital Spy.

The title character is traditionally the son of a wealthy industrialist, but in the streaming service's updated version he is responsible for his own wealth after inventing a "cool new green technology".

Netflix has ordered 21 episodes of the half-hour comedy. Jake Brennan, Joshua Carlon, Jenna Ortega, Lauren Taylor, Kiff VandenHeuvel and Brooke Wexler are set to star.

Brian Robbins, Tim Pollock and Jeff Hodsden will act as executive producers. 'Richie Rich' also previously inspired two animated series.
