Shabbir and Kanchi to get hitched!

Zeenews Bureau Mumbai: This will probably break a few hearts. Indian television’s bad boy Shabbir Ahluwalia is all set to enter holy matrimony with long time sweetheart, actress Kanchi Kaul. The couple will tie the knot on 27 November, 2011. It’s the season of weddings in Telly land. After Kingshuk Mahajan tied the knot with his long time girlfriend in Jaipur last week, Shabbir and Kanchi are all set to do the same. The couple hosted a lavish sangeet ceremony on Wednesday and celebrities from TV and film industry came to wish the couple. Kanchi who is a known face in the ad world looked breathtaking in a red and orange lehenga, while Shabbir, who is currently playing the lead in ‘Laagi Tujhe Lagan’, looked dapper in a black sherwani. Speaking to a website, actor Varun Badola said, “Shabbir and Kanchi are my sweethearts. Shabbir and I play for the same cricket team Boxy Boys. I met Kanchi via him. They look great together and as far as the sangeet is concerned it was superbly organized.” The actor attended the ceremony with his wife Rajeshwari and son. TV world’s another couple, Shweta Kawatra and Manav Gohil, said that the sangeet ceremony was very personalized and Shabbir and Kanchi’s families performed for the guests. “The sangeet was full of loud music. It was typical of Shabbir Ahluwalia,” said Manav. A bevy of stars made it to the sangeet ceremony to wish the couple. From Ekta Kapoor to Hiten and Gauri Tejwani, to film actors Ashish Chaudhary, Ritesh Deshmukh and Dino Morea, all were spotted having a gala time.
