London: Simon Cowell has been hailed as the undisputed king of Saturday night television.
Statistics have validated that Cowell is behind the two highest rated shows in UK since 2006 — ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘The X Factor’.
‘Britain’s got Talent’ final in 2009, which was won by street dance troupe Diversity was viewed by 18.29 million viewers along with 15.1 million viewers for last year’s ‘The X Factor’.
The two shows are to be screened in a short span of time, for the first time without Cowell, who is concentrating on the US version of the show.
“It will be interesting to see how X Factor does without him on the judging panel,” the Daily Star quoted a TV industry insider as saying.
