Sofia Vergara turns producer for new TV thriller

Los Angeles: `Modern Family` star Sofia Vergara is moving into producing after Tv bosses handed her the reins of a new show. The 40-year-old actress is set to adapt Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas for America`s Abc network, as well as taking on the role of executive producer, The Hollywood Reporter said. The show, titled `Killer Women`, is based on murders committed by women in Argentina and is a huge hit in South America. Hannah Shakespeare (The Raven) will pen the script and executive produce alongside feature director Martin Campbell, Vergara and her Latin World Entertainment partner Luis Balaguer. PTI
