Star India adopts HD technology,for new logo

The television channels are adapting to new technologies.

Mumbai: It seems television channels are adapting to new technologies to be the best in the business as Star India has upgraded its top-five channels with high-definition (HD) technology and also unveiled new corporate logo - Hot Star.Their leading channels - Star Plus, Star Movies, Star Gold, Star World and Nat Geo will be available in what they call Asli (real) HD. The content will be shot in HD, recorded and edited in HD and mixed for 5.1 Dolby surround sound, said a statement.
"The launch of Asli HD today is a testimony to our commitment to offer our viewers world class media experience. With Star`s massively popular entertainment channels turning HD, a high definition revolution is set to kick start in India. This is just a glimpse of a slew of exciting initiatives, we will roll out in coming months," said Uday Shankar, CEO, Star India. Viewers will need a HD television set to enjoy the experience. To mark two decades in India, the group also presented its new corporate logo - the Hot Star, which symbolises the zeal to continuously innovate, create and invent for the 21st century India. "Our new corporate logo reflects the vigor and vitality of a new India, that Star has been privileged to grow with. We see this as a source of energy for the entire company, to continue to fire up for the opportunities and challenges in serving and inspiring our viewers," said Shankar. IANS
