Sugna turns Gujarati belle in `Sanskar ‘Laxmi’

New Delhi: She impressed viewers with her role as Sugna in popular serial `Balika Vadhu`, but actress Vibha Anand has bid farewell to the show to play the lead in new soap `Sanskar Laxmi`.

The actress will be seen portraying a village-bred Gujarati girl with a humble background, who marries into a big joint family in Mumbai.

"My character is called Laxmi, a village girl with traditional values, small dreams, who lands up in the big city after marriage. The story shows how she holds the family together with her values," Vibha told PTI.

Soon to premier on Zee TV, `Sanskar Laxmi` charts the journey of a simple, uneducated young girl who changes the lives of the family she marries into by her traditional yet modern outlook.

After playing a supporting role in `Balika Vadhu`, this is Vibha`s first lead and the actress is excited about it.

"I always wanted to play my age on-screen and being the lead, this role has given me a lot of scope to act. Laxmi is a bubbly girl, full of life and has a world of her own," said the Dehradun-born actress.

Even though she is playing a Gujarati on the show, Vibha said she did not go through any special preparation for the role.

"The writers have been very cooperative, guiding me with the dialogues and scenes. Also, most of my co-actors are Gujarati, so I get a lot of help on the sets," said Vibha.
