Los Angeles: Actor Tyler Hoechlin will not return for the upcoming fifth season of supernatural drama series "Teen Wolf".
The 27-year-old actor, who has portrayed Derek Hale since the first season of TV show "Teen Wolf", is leaving the MTV series to focus on his movie career, reported Aceshowbiz.
Executive producer Jeff Davis broke the news at the PaleyFest panel for the show.
"Tyler Hoechlin decided he wanted more time to pursue movies. We talked and creatively agreed that maybe this was a good season to refocus on the teens of 'Teen Wolf'," Davis said.
He, however, hinted that Hoechlin's Derek Hale might still be featured in season five in recurring capacity.
"And while he won't be a series regular anymore, I can say that you probably won't have seen the last of Derek Hale. We love him and miss him," Davis teased. "Teen Wolf" returns with the new season this June.
