‘Uttaran’ actress Beena Banerjee taken in custody by the CBI

New Delhi: Veteran film and TV actress Beena Banerjee was arrested a couple of days back by the CBI while she was shooting for her TV show ‘Uttaran’ which airs of Colors channel. Beena Banerjee is the daughter of yesteryear actor Pradeep Kapoor. She plays the part of Gunwanti Bundela (Veer’s mother) in the show that has been running for a long time now. Word has it that a complaint was filed against her for not returning Rs 3.5 lakh she owed to a moneylender. On the other hand, the channel is struggling to keep the show go on in her absence. They have even hired a body double to play Beena’s part and are clueless on for how long they would be able to work this way.
