New Delhi: Tusshar Kapoor, who started his Bollywood career with `Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai` in 2001,says he could not capitalise on the success of his movies in the past.
The 33-year-old, son of Bollywood veteran actor Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor and brother of producer Ekta Kapoor, has had a fluctuating career graph eversince but has bounced back with hits like `Life Partner` and `Golmaal` series.
"I haven`t cashed my success to the utmost in the past. Even when `Golmaal Returns` became such a big hit , I couldn`t celebrate much because I was in South Africa shooting for `Life Partner`. The film was a big hit but because I wasn`t in town, I could not find means to cash on the success. There was so much hype around the film but I couldn`t
capitalize," the actor said.
Tusshar is someone who has enjoyed at least one good success every year be it recent hit `Life Partner`, `Golmaal Returns`, `Golmaal` or `Khakee` and the actor is hoping a similar success with `Golmaal 3` which hits theatres this Diwali.
Tusshar hasn`t seen a film of his release after `Life Partner` which came exactly a year back but the actor is not complaining.
"I didn`t have time to think about it because throughout last one year, I was busy shooting for number of other films like `Golmaal 3`, `Shor` and `Hum Tum Aur Shabana`," the actor said.
"Also, though there hasn`t been a film of mine which has released during the last one year, it wasn`t planned this way. `Run Bhola Run` was slated for 2009 arrival but it got pushed to 2010 due to certain factors. I am looking forward to the film`s release this year," he added.
So what is he aiming to do so that his standing in the industry becomes further firm and he gets better films and more important roles?
"For starters, I am trying to do things which are different," said Tusshar.
"Films like `Shor` and `Hum Tum Aur Shabana` are steps in that direction. `Golmaal` is anyways a franchise that I am proud of. I am looking at building a brand of myself so that people talk about me for the person that I am. All of this should lead to a perception building exercise," he added.
