London: ' Fifty Shades of Grey' helmer Sam Taylor-Johnson may have made a hugely successful, but she's considering walking out of the trilogy.

The Reason? Taylor-Johnson, 47, and the erotic novel's author E.L James just can't get along, the Daily Star reported.

The director has been open about her on-set clashing with the 51-year-old bestselling writer, and according a source, since their relationship has become "toxic," she wants out and Universal too feels it's the right decision.

However, Taylor-Johnson's representative has claimed that the press reports were nothing more than conjecture as the sequel hasn't been confirmed yet.

The film has received mixed reviews as the sex scenes portrayed in the film were quite tame in comparison to the book's raunchy versions, which has been the cause of spat between Taylor-Johnson and James, as the author wanted the scenes to be more explicit.

Taylor-Johnson had openly said that it was difficult and frustrating when the "author and auteur," didn't agree.

While Taylor-Johnson's association with the next film is still in question, stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson would surely be returning for the future sequels, 'Fifty Shades Darker' and 'Fifty Shades Freed.'
