Mumbai: The Censor Board has given the ‘A’ certificate to Aamir Khan’s next movie. The jury sure must have been taken aback while scrutinising Aamir’s ‘Peepli Live’ for the obvious reason that while ‘3 Idiots’ was a very decent picture and was accepted across ages, ‘Peepli Lives’ came as quite a shock! According to the sources, Aamir had this option of making a few cuts and getting a `U` rating for the film, but he seemed pretty cool with the `adults only` tag and refused any changes. Talking to a news daily, a close source from Aamir Khan Productions said, "We have got an `A` certificate with no cuts. ‘Peepli Live’ is about farmer suicides and uses very authentic, colourful rustic language, the sort you get to hear in villages. To retain its essence, it was important no scene be cut. The language made the members of the Censor Board squirmy and they asked for cuts. However, Aamir was clear that none of the lines would be cut or the use of words diluted, and was given to take his film to only the 18-plus audience." The film has already created a buzz with its official entry to the Sundance Film Festival, and Khan didn`t want the Censor Board to tamper with the material. Speaking to the media, the source further added, "‘Peepli Live’ has made an entry in the World Cinema Narrative category. It`s the first Indian film to go to the festival, and making cuts for the Indian audience wouldn`t have been fair." Delhi girl Anusha Rizvi, who makes her debut as a director with this film said that the film is a satire, a black comedy about rural life, where the effort primarily is on showing audience, the stark reality of the real India.
