London: Filmmaker JJ Abrams has asked "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" fans to not watch the movie on their mobile phones.

The 49-year-old director said looking at people watching his work on a small scale is the nightmare of every storyteller," reported Digital Spy.

"Anyone who makes movies will say, 'Please don't watch my movies on that'," Abrams said at the South by Southwest film festival. It is the nightmare of every storyteller that people are going to watch something you made on something so small," Abrams said.

"The Force Awakens" will be released on iTunes on April 1.
