Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Karan Johar “stressed out”

Mumbai: Karan Johar’s directorial production Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma has been in news for all wrong reasons because it also features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The producer-director is “stressed out” because of the controversy over the film’s release.

After remaining tight-lipped for several days despite massive protests, Johar, clarified his stand on the issue a couple of days back and also said that he would refrain from engaging with talent from the other side of the border in future.

Reacting to Johar’s video, his friend Farah Khan said that the producer-director is “stressed out”.

"We were shooting together yesterday. Karan is a dear friend of mine. I know he is stressed out and he has said it all what he feels," she said when asked about controversy over Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in an important role.

"Karan will never do anything that is not patriotic. All of us feel like that. The statement has finally arrived and it says it all. Now matter should be put to rest," she added.

"There are a lot of things that bother us. Let's not get into those things because whenever we open our mouth we get into trouble," Farah said.

The Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association had urged all its members during its annual general meeting not to engage with artists and technicians from Pakistan following the September 18 Uri terror attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers.

Subsequently, the MNS, led by Raj Thackeray, had threatened to “beat up” those who would work with Pakistanis besides stalling release of films that will have talents from across the border.

The Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India too decided to boycott films with actors/technicians from Pakistan.
