Mumbai: 2012 has ushered in extreme good fortune for filmmaker Karan Johar. The first movie that released under the banner of Dharma Productions this year, ‘Agneepath’, has already set the box office on fire with a turnover of Rs 25 crores on the very first day. And now, with ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’, KJo has been able to earn 12.5 crores in two days! The rom-com, which stars Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan in the lead roles, has been able to woo box offices overseas as well. The movie might have been a low-budget one, but the turnover is tremendous. Karan Johar couldn’t have asked for more. A source close to the filmmaker said, “There is a 40 percent jump in the collections from Friday to Saturday and then again from Saturday to Sunday. The word of mouth and reviews are strong and helped the film.” The year is just a month-and-a-half old, and KJo sure is gearing up for many such releases over the year. All the best!
