Mumbai: Superstar Rajinikanth’s much awaited comeback film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ might take longer to hit the silver screen.
‘Kochadayaan’ starring Rajini and Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone was initially slated to release this Diwali. But according to the latest buzz, the film might not be released as per schedule.
According to the rumour mills, Ajay Devgn is responsible for the setback. The actor’s home production ‘Son of Sardar’ is on the verge of completion and is scheduled to release during the festive season. And hence the delay.
Talking to a news channel, a source said, “Rajni Sir`s South market is totally secure. In fact, when Kamal Haasan Sir heard of Rajniji`s Diwali plans for ‘Kochadaiyaan’, he postponed the release date of his Hindi-Tamil-Telugu tri-lingual ‘Vishwaroopam’ . But then, the news of the Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Son Of Sardar’ being released during Diwali surfaced. Though it in no way affects Rajniji`s Southern and overseas market, the Hindi version of ‘Kochadaiyaan’ is bound to get affected. Initially, Rajni`s team was ready and willing to take on ‘Son Of Sardar’ even in the Hindi belt. But now Sonakshi Sinha is hotter and more happening after ‘Rowdy Rathore’. It was felt that a Diwali release was just not be feasible or practical.”
