Amitabh Bachchan didn’t play villain in Rajinikanth’s ‘Robot ’- Here’s why

Mumbai: It would have been a treat to watch megastars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan together onscreen after decades! But that didn’t happen! Big B was offered to play villain in Rajini’s ‘Robot’, but he declined the role after consulting the latter.

During a recent press interaction, Big B revealed that his dear friend Rajinikanth told him not to play villain in ‘Robot’, a film directed by Shankar in 2010 that also starred Aishwarya Rai.

Taking about the offer, Big B said, “Shankar had come to me and he wanted me to play the villain (in 'Robot'). I called Rajini. He said, 'people will not accept you as a villain, so don't do it'. I said ok.”

Interestingly, a sequel to ‘Robot’ is in the making and Akshay Kumar has been roped in to play the antagonist.
