Can’t take my family to watch ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’: Salman Khan Zeenews Bureau

Mumbai: Even as critics and audience have given thumbs up to Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ calling this magnum opus a celluloid experience which ushers a new trend in the history of Indian cinema. Surprisingly, Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is not too keen to watch the film.

The actor informed that he has not seen the film yet. He said, “I am busy promoting my film. I don’t have time to watch other’s films.”

Interestingly, the part 2 of ‘GOW’ which released yesterday has a character called Definite who is a fan of Salman Khan. So, is this Anurag’s way of extending an olive branch to Salman after their major fallout over ‘Dabangg’ sequel. For the uninitiated, Anurag’s brother was ousted from making the sequel after Abhinav Kashyap’s (director of ‘Dabangg’) relationship went sour with the Khan brothers.

But, Salman Khan doesn’t seem too interested.

He said, “I do clean films, straight out. Mujhe meri picture main gaali vaali rakhne ki koi zaroorat nahi padti. (I don’t need to use abusive language in my films.) I just want to do my kind of cinema. I just want our filmmakers to make movies with our culture and value system.”

Asked him if he plans to watch it in the near future he shoots back saying, “No. I watch films with friends and family. But I can’t take my family to watch that film. Even though everybody is grown up and mature in my family. And we all are adults and aware and very chilled out but I don’t I think I will want to see that film with them.”

Even though Salman doesn’t seem to be in a mood to forgive and forget, however he gives his best wishes to the film. He adds, “If this film does well, it’s good. I will be very happy. I hope every film does well.”

Salman has the right to have his opinion and just because he has one does not mean you will drag his past (unproven) antedecents into the discussion to proove ur point.....that is looser behaviour...well it doesn't surprise me, coz u seem like a looser urself....no denying that GOW is a good movie but the abusive part is also true...so go get a life you looser (Imran).... - Naveen - Mumbai
Actually meri shadi nahi ho rahi naa isliye I am frustrated, ashwarya aur katrina ke baad mera last love manoj vajpayee bhi mujhe (chod) gaya so soriee:(:::: - salman khan - jahnum

everyone have their own opinion.salman thing GOW is not clean movie.but he is not saying to anybody to do not watch GOW.this is not compulsion to follow salman,s thought. - ashish - mumbai
salman is right gow is bakwas movie without proper story - gagan - delhi
Salman khan can not watch GOW because his level is not up to that stander where he could understand this movie. From last 10-15 years he and some others also making rubbish kind of cinema and became so much wealthy even if they do not know the ABCD of real cinema. Anurag kashyap is a talent house and very well focus director and seriously he do need comment like person for an outstanding movie. - Ajit Kumar - Delhi
Boss, What do you mean by clean moves, GOW is much much better then some of your idiotic movies, First of all ur character it self is not clean enough so u don't deserve to make comments like clean movies with our culture and values. I really liked your movie Dabang, but dont say dabang koi dood ka khula hua movie hai.. it has got the same flavours of GOW.. Well made movies like GOW needs appreciation for new talent, awesome acting and spirit for moving making. Justifying each and evry role.. Thumbs-up GOW .. your comments made me to Thumbs-down for Ek tha tiger, probably will watch when it release on TV.. Will Adjust with GOW till then... - Imran - India
