Los Angeles: Actress Christina Ricci will bring to life Lizzie Borden, a young American woman who was tried but eventually acquitted in the 1892 axe murders of her father and stepmother, in a movie.
The telepic, which will be directed by Nick Gomez and produced by Sony Pictures Television, will centre on Borden`s trial for the brutal murders of her father, Andrew Jackson Borden, and his second wife, Abby Durfee Gray Borden, at their family home, reported Ace Showbiz. Borden, born in 1860, was acquitted in a trial and no one else was charged in the murders, leaving the case unsolved. Though she was found not guilty in trial, Borden faced significant ostracism when she returned to live in Fall River, Massachusetts until her death in 1927. Another Borden project is currently in production on HBO. PTI
