Clash with Dhanush`s ‘Raanjhanaa’ wasn`t intended: Susi Ganesh

Susi Ganesh`s debut Bollywood film ‘Shortcut Romeo’ hit the screens alongside southern sensation, actor Dhanush`s Hindi film debut ‘Raanjhanaa’ Friday.

Mumbai: Southern director Susi Ganesh`s debut Bollywood film ‘Shortcut Romeo’ hit the screens alongside southern sensation, actor Dhanush`s Hindi film debut ‘Raanjhanaa’ Friday. But the former says it was an unintended clash.
"I never intended to pitch against Dhanush because I like him and his father is very well-known to me. Basically, we were already on June 21 and they were on June 28. Suddenly, they shifted to June 21. It`s not like we intended to fight against each other," the director said. ‘Shortcut Romeo’ is a remake of Ganesh`s own Tamil film ‘Thiruttu Payale’. He admits the Hindi version is bigger and better than the Tamil original, and he hopes it is received well. "It`s a beautiful entertainment-based film with a strong message. It worked in a big way in south. In fact, it was like a dark horse. No one expected that kind of success at that time. Hopefully, I can attain the same success here in Bollywood," Susi said. "I am the same director and creator who made that film, but I can say that this film is 10 times bigger and better than my Tamil version," he added. ‘Shortcut Romeo’ stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta.
