New Delhi: 'Prem and 'Suman' are the two names that no Bollywood lover will ever forget.

Director Sooraj R Barjatya's 'Maine Pyaar Kiya', which was released on 29 December, 1989 has completed 25 years of adoration.

'MPK' may be two and a half decades old but the film which is full of innocent love and romance still feels afresh.

Marking a big break for superstar Salman, 'MPK' presented him as a lover boy, an image much treasured by his fans and making him win the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut (read: Salman had made his debut in Rekha, Farooque Sheikh starrer 'Biwi Ho To Aisi' as the second lead).

From the popular dialogues like 'Dosti ki hai to nibhani padegi' to the messenger pigeon, this movie had everything in it to nourish the romance in a talkie.

The beauty of this love story was to have the basic Bollywood-ish gist of a wealthy man (Salman Khan) who falls in love with a working-class woman (Bhagyashree) and still present itself with a screenplay much loved and celebrated for years together.

If you are a movie buff, you must have hummed the tunes 'Aate Jaate' and 'Mere Rang Mein' and worn the 'Friends Cap'.

That's the beauty of 'MPK'!
