'DDLJ' 1000 weeks: Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan, Anupam Kher recall magical moments!

New Delhi: The film which changed Indian cinema and the way we understand romance—Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' successfully completes 1000 weeks since it first released in 1995. Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra's son Aditya made his directorial debut with 'DDLJ' and gave this country their favourite on screen 'jodi' in the face of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

On this memorable day, when 'DDLJ' completes 1000 weeks of successful running at Maratha Mandir, Mumbai. The actors who played their parts in the film recall their beautiful fun-filled journey on various platforms—television, print media and social media, and share the magic they created once.

Bollywood's original 'Simran' aka Kajol in an interview with the leading daily said that a classic like 'DDLJ' should never be remade. The actress while recalling her 'golden' days of shooting for 'DDLJ' felt nostalgic and was proud of it.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh or the famous 'Raj Malhotra' from 'DDLJ' took to Twitter, where he tweeted, “Late nite shoot at YRF, Mumbai. No better way to drive back home, then to a day when it's a 1000 weeks of DDLJ”.

Recently, the entire cast even shot for comedy king Kapil Sharma's chat show 'Comedy Nights With Kapil', where the recalled the memories of shooting this movie.

Actor Anupam Kher, who played the daddy cool to SRK, also took to micro-blogging site Twitter and posted: “Proud to be part of a film which completes #1000weeks today. Hindi cinema can be described as before & after DDLJ.”
