Did not call anyone terrorist in Madras Cafe: John Abraham

John Abraham’s ‘Madras Cafe’ is in the eye of a storm. Reports said that pro-Tamil outfit Naam Thamizhar has appealed the Tamil Nadu government to ban the movie.

Zee Media Bureau New Delhi: John Abraham’s ‘Madras Cafe’ is one of the most anticipated releases in Bollywood this year, but it already seems to be in the eye of a storm. Reports said that pro-Tamil outfit Naam Thamizhar has appealed the Tamil Nadu government to ban the movie.
The group’s founder has asked for a film preview to check whether allegations of the film portraying the outfit in bad light are true or not. However, John Abraham has countered the allegations, "We have not called anyone `terrorists` in the film. We haven`t taken sides... This film doesn`t take any sides. We probably will show them the film," the actor said while talking to reporters in Chennai during the official release of the trailer in the city. John added, "The film is not biased and is based on facts and actual situations. If someone wants to take a political mileage out of it, I can`t stop that. A lot of research has gone into the making of the film and it is unbiased. We have not taken any sides." ‘Madras Cafe’, which is directed by Shoojit Sircar, stars John Abraham with Nargis Fakri as the female lead in a thriller based on the civil war in Sri Lanka.
