Ethan Hawke joins Luc Besson's 'Valerian'
Besson is also writing "Valerian", which is expected to start production in January.
Los Angeles: "Born to Be Blue" actor Ethan Hawke has joined the cast of director Luc Besson's upcoming sci-fi novel adaptation "Valerian".
Besson announced the news on Instagram, said The Hollywood Reporter. "Ethan Hawke will play in #Valerian! I want to work with for years! We gonna have fun!!!" Besson posted.
Hawke joins Clive Owen, Rihanna, Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan in the film. Besson previously announced the addition of Rihanna to the cast through his Instagram account as well.
The film is based on the 1967 novel by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres. DeHaan will play the titular space- and time-traveling character, while Delevingne will play his red-haired companion.
Besson is also writing "Valerian", which is expected to start production in January. It is set to hit theatres on July 21, 2017.
