Mumbai: National Award winning filmmaker Shyam Benegal has expressed his wish to work with Fawad Khan, an actor from Pakistan.
Interestingly, Benegal’s film would reportedly talk about bringing India and Pakistan closer through art and culture. According to a report in TOI, the film will be titled Ye Raste Hain Pyaar Ke and helmed by Harsh Narayan.
Fawad will essay the role of a musician in the film, the report suggests.
The actor from the other side of the border made his Bollywood debut opposite Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat. He was also one of the lead actors in Karan Johar’s Kapoor and Sons. And is now, he is gearing up for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, a film in which he has a small but significant role.
Bollywood stands divided on the issue of hiring Pakistani artists and technicians in Indian films. The IMPPA had passed a unanimous resolution at the annual general meeting, a few days back, urging all their members to stop working with artists and technicians from across the border until bi-lateral tensions die down.
Ajay Devgn and Anupam Kher are among the group of people from the film industry, who have decided against working with Pakistani artists.
