Shahid Kapoor as Tommy Singh
From what we could see in the trailer of the film, it looks like Tommy Singh will outshine ‘Haider’ as Shahid’s best on screen character. The very talented actor seems to have put his heart & soul, sweat & blood to bring this character to life on screen. Tommy Singh could well be Shahid’s best performance till date.
The star cast
Besides Shahid, the film features Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles. All these actors are brilliant performances and hugely talented. Interestingly, ‘Udta Punjab’ is former couple Shahid - Kareena’s first film post their break up (Shahid is married to Mira while Kareena is Mrs Saif Ali Khan).
The songs have been a huge hit! ‘Chitta Ve’, ‘Dad Da Dasse’, ‘Ikk Kudi’, ‘Ud-Daa Punjab’ etc have been appreciated by lovers of Bollywood music.
The theme of the film
We all know that the film is based on substance abuse. It would be interesting to see how the film tackles the sensitive issue.

Besides these, he has been an assistant director for critically acclaimed films – ‘Makdee’, ‘Maqbool’, ‘The Blue Umbrella’ and ‘Omkara’. Moreover he has ‘Kaminey’ as a screenplay writer to his credit.
