Mumbai: Salman Khan began his acting career with a supporting actor’s role in Rekha and Farookh Sheikh starrer ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ in 1988. But it was with Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ that Salman began his journey as a hero, who could steal a million hearts at just one glance.

As Prem, Salman rocked the silverscreen with his innocence and infectious charm. He became every girl’s dream man, and an ideal son-in-law material every mother of a daughter wished she could have.

Salman’s chemistry with Bhagyashree infused freshness and energy onscreen. The two looked cute and perfect with each other. The film went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of that era.

Today, as ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ turns 26, here’s wishing the man on screen and the man behind it – Sooraj Barjatya’ – hearty congratulations.
