Jennifer Aniston found 'Cake' role liberating

Los Angeles:  Jennifer Aniston, who has sparked awards talk with her gritty role in 'Cake', says it was liberating to ditch her glamorous self to play a depressed woman in the movie.

Aniston, who is known for her romantic comedies, received a standing ovation for her latest performance when the film screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The 45-year-old actress plays the role of a woman suffering from addiction, rage issues and suicidal depression after a tragic accident leaves her scarred inside and out, reported a magazine.

"It's awesome and liberating to let that all go," Aniston said about her role.

"And see yourself looking like that on a 50-foot screen," she added.
