Los Angeles: Actress Jennifer Hudson is reportedly in talks to star in the untitled Aretha Franklin biopic.
Hudson, 33, is in negotiations to play the R&B songstress, a lead role which was previously offered to Halle Berry, reported Aceshowbiz.
The casting is not final yet but Hudson's representative has hinted that there had been conversations about the role.
"Straight Outta Compton" producer Scott Bernstein is making the movie under his SMB Films banner.
The film will be based on Franklin's rise to fame in the '60s and '70s. It will also travel through her interpersonal relationships, specifically with her abusive husband and autocratic father, who helped inspire and shape her music.
