New Delhi: He started his career as Mikhail, Shahid Kapoor`s partner in crime in `Kaminey` and now Chandan Roy Sanyal has bagged a comedy role in Hema Malini`s `Tell Me Oh Khuda`.
Sanyal, 31, who is just two films old in the industry, is excited to share screen space with veterans like Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna in the movie, which also marks the return of Esha Deol. "I am a workaholic and love to act. I am playing a comedian called Kuki in the film who thinks himself to be a smart guy. The film is shot in three episodes with three legendary actors-Vinod khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Dharmendra. I am their common link," Sanyal told reporters. For the newcomer, it was a great learning experience to work with these veterans. "Working with actors whom you have seen only in films and magazines is a great experience in itself. All these actors have so much positivity that seeing them your acting gets improved automatically. "Dharamji is a complete actor. He can perform any character with equal brilliance. Whereas Rishiji is always ready to help you whenever you need him. These stars don`t carry air around them," he said. Sanyal is seen playing Esha Deol`s best friend in the film. "I will be seen in cool dude look who is a good friend of Esha Deol. There are many colours to his character. He has got short spiked hair, completely opposite to what I was in `Kaminey`," Sanyal said. With two more projects titled `Prag` and `BMW` in his kitty, Sanyal thinks it`s the best phase of his career. "It was really hard to beat my performance in `Kaminey`. The film has definitely given me the much needed start and has given me the due recognition in the industry. Compliments are still pouring in for that performance." Chandan says he had to opt out of Deepa Mehta`s `Midnight Children` based on Salman Rushdie`s novel. "The dates clashed. It was just difficult project because the film was to shoot in Sri Lanka and it was difficult to get the permission," he said. PTI
