Kangana Ranaut is the reigning ‘Queen’ of Bollywood – Here’s why

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut has proved time and again that hard work reaps fruits. The girl who has no godfather in the film industry has walked a long way to create a niche for herself. She made her debut almost a decade back in ‘Gangster’, a thriller. Her acting prowess in her first film helped her bag the coveted Filmfare Award for Best debut (female) and since then she has impressed her fans and critics alike.

The curly-haired beauty had stunned the jury of the National Film awards with her performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ in 2008. She won the prestigious award in the Best Actress in a supporting role category.

Nonetheless, despite being a National award winner, there was a phase in her career when she was typecast. But she bounced back stronger with ‘Queen’ in 2013. The Vikas Bahl film gave a new lease of life to Kangana.

She bagged the National Award in the best actress category for her role in ‘Queen’ and since then, the Himachali beauty has become producers’ hot favourite.

Kangana essayed a double role on Aanand L Rai’s sequel to 2010 super-hit ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. In the film, besides playing Tanu, Kangana came across as Datto, a Haryanvi athlete. None could have pulled of the role of Datto as beautifully as Kangana. Her perfect Haryanvi accent, her boy-like body language as an athlete and her overall performance were simply brilliant.

The girl from Himachal Pradesh has a number of big projects in the pipeline. She will soon be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Rangoon’. She has Hansal Mehta’s ‘Simran’ and Ketan Mehta’s ‘Rani Lakshmibai’ in her kitty.

Here’s wishing this actor par excellence for winning the prestigious national award for the third time.
