New Delhi: We have seen the grand epic Mahabharat getting adapted for the Indian Television atleast three times so far. It is now turn for the film goers to enjoy watching Mahabharat on the big screen too as Jayatilala Gada is out with the first trailer of his ambitious animated project. As mentioned above, Gada’s version of Mahabharat is an animated one but what makes this film unique is the fact that popular Bollywood stars have given their voice to the epic’s characters. We have megastar Amitabh Bachchan as Bhishma, Sunny as Bheem, Vidya as Draupadi, Manoj as Yudhistir, Ajay Devgn as Arjun, Anil Kapoor as Karna, Jackie Shroff as Duryodhan and Anupam Kher as Shakuni – the evil Prince of Gandhar. Not just the voice but it seems that the film makers have copied the look of the stars to sketch the animated characters for the film. Because honestly which text ever said that Draupadi should be fat and frumpy in real life? But Gada’s version of Draupadi is very much like Vidya Balan. Didn’t the makers know that Draupadi had a slender waist, dark complexion and matchless beauty? Similarly, we are not too happy with the portrayal of some major characters like the Pandavas sporting a moustache. On top of that, the Pandavas are made to look much older and somewhat unattractive. Well, even with all that said we will leave up to the audiences to judge the quality animation of this “most expensive” animated film. Here goes the trailer of Mahabharat:
