Los Angeles: Matt Damon-starrer "The Great Wall", which was originally slated to hit US theatres on November 23 this year, has been pushed to February 17, 2017.

'The Great Wall' will go up against Will Smith's 'Bad Boys 3' and the final film in the 'Maze Runner' franchise, 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure', said The Hollywood Reporter.

The project is directed by House of "Flying Daggers" helmer Zhang Yimou and tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world's most iconic structure.

The picture is the first English-language production for Zhang and the largest film ever shot entirely in China.

"The Great Wall" also stars Pedro Pascal, Tian Jing, Andy Lau and Willem Dafoe.
