Mumbai: Director Kunal Kohli was shattered when his first directorial venture "Mujhse Dosti Karoge!" met with a disaster at the box-office 13 years ago.

The filmmaker to Twitter to relive the memories of his maiden project, which today completed 13 years.

#13YearsOfMDK I was heartbroken when it didn't work. Adi (Aditya Chopra) believed in me and pushed me to work on 'Hum Tum'. Rest is history. Thanks Adi," Kohli wrote. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the 2002 film was a love triangle starring Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor.

Post "Mujhse Dosti Kaorge!", the director helmed "Hum Tum", "Fanaa", "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic" and "Teri Meri Kahaani". The director is all set to make his acting debut with Jennifer Winget starrer "Phir Se...", which is co-directed by Kohli and debutant filmmaker Ajay Bhuyan.
